Stable Diffusion Prompt Download

Stable Diffusion is an AI image generation model that can create amazingly detailed and realistic images from text prompts. However, writing effective prompts requires some skill and practice. The key is providing enough details and context to guide the AI, while still leaving room for creativity.

In this article, I share prompt engineering tips and include 15 example prompts across different categories to spark ideas and help you improve. Read on to become a prompt pro!

Describe the Desired Image Clearly

The first step is simply describing the image you want to generate. Be specific about elements like:

  • Subject matter
  • Number of subjects
  • Pose, framing, angle
  • Facial expression and gaze
  • Outfits and accessories
  • Surrounding environment
  • Lighting and atmosphere

For example:

A portrait photo of a young woman with long blonde hair. She is outdoors in a green meadow, wearing a white lace dress and holding a bouquet of colorful flowers. Her hair and dress are blowing gently in the wind. She smiles brightly at the camera in a 3/4 profile with soft lighting.

Use Styles and References

Referencing art styles helps steer the AI’s creative direction. Specify a movement like impressionism or art deco, or name a specific artist.

References can provide more context. Name a film, time period, or fictional universe to emulate.

For example:

A regal elf queen in flowing robes etched with Tolkien Elvish script. Portrayed in intricate art nouveau style by Alphonse Mucha.

Enhance Quality

Include descriptors to maximize quality:

intricate details, depth of field, cinematic lighting, ultra-high resolution

Avoid subjective words like “beautiful” or “perfect” as they can confuse AI. Use objective descriptors instead.

Refine with Variations

Try variations on a concept by tweaking prompts. Change angles, poses, outfits and more to explore ideas.

For example:

Variation 1: Front angle instead of side profile
Variation 2: Sitting instead of standing
Variation 3: Facing the camera with a smile

Prompt Examples

Here are some prompts to help spark your creativity:

Portraits

An oil painting portrait of a girl with red hair and freckles posing outdoors. She wears a blue dress and smiles softly, with a warm golden hour lighting. Painted by John Singer Sargent.

A black and white photograph of an elderly man with short white hair and beard. He wears circular glasses and a tweed blazer, reading a book while sitting in a leather armchair next to a crackling fireplace.

Landscapes

A mystical landscape with giant ancient trees glowing blue, purple auroras in the night sky, and magical floating islands hovering above the horizon. Epic wide shot. Trending on Artstation.

A vibrant autumn scene with a lake reflecting colorful trees in the distance. Painted in Bob Ross wet-on-wet oil style.

Still Life

A tabletop scene of various musical instruments like guitars, trumpets, violins, and saxophones. Dramatic chiaroscuro lighting like a classical painting.

An arrangement of peonies, roses, tulips, and lilies in a glass vase. Soft lighting and depth of field like a professional photograph.

Conclusion

With the right prompts, Stable Diffusion can produce extraordinary images. Start with a clear description, enhance quality with descriptors, reference styles and contexts, and try variations. Review the examples above to improve your prompts. Most importantly, don’t be afraid to experiment!
